COVID-19 changed the way many congregations worship. With community engagements increasingly moving online, Heartland Community Church embarked on a full rebrand and site redesign to create a brand new online home for its congregation.
CHALLENGE
Heartland Community Church was making due with a dated site that was becoming increasingly difficult to manage on the back-end. They were looking for something new on two fronts: a full rebrand, and a redesigned site experience that exemplified the modern ways its community had learned to engage with them by.
We needed to create seamless paths for community members to get involved: from virtually attending live sermons on Sundays, or signing up for community events and volunteer opportunities.
SOLUTION
While collaborators at Guild Collective crafted Heartland’s re-imagined brand identify, we carefully planned and prototyped an evolution of the site’s structure and overall visitor experience.
The redesigned homepage welcomes visitors with a countdown to Sunday’s virtual sermon, driving to the livestream once service has begun.
Our redesigned site seamlessly integrated Heartland’s existing Church Community Builder (CCB) platform in ways that would feel familiar to the congregation, while making it even easier for new churchgoers to get involved.
On the back-end, we built the site with easy-to-manage admin tools and user interfaces, allowing the Heartland team to take on content updates and simple site tasks independently and as-needed.
