The challenge was to restructure a wide variety of information to be engaging, informative, and fun for Boulevard’s broad consumer base. Consideration had to be given to the mindset not only of beer aficionados but also of the casual beer drinker, knowing that both have unique needs. And we had to ensure that the site functions seamlessly in both desktop and mobile environments.
The new site contains a wealth of information, including up-to-date details on the company's beers, where to find them, and even a new "Find Your Flavor" feature that allows site visitors to find their perfect match using taste profile characteristics, or simply their "Beer of the Moment" based on a short quiz. Additional features include the popular Brewer's Blog, info on various Boulevard event space rentals, and details on the company's community commitments and partnerships.
While the site is laser focused on the needs of the website visitor – both Boulevard fans and loyalists as well as those just discovering the brand for the first time – we knew that project success would also hinge on satisfying the content dissemination needs of all the various internal stakeholders at the brewery tasked with keeping the site fresh and up-to-date. As a result, we gave just as much consideration to the design and execution of the custom WordPress admin functionality as we did to the design of the site.
