Bryant & Stratton College (B&SC) is a private nonprofit college with a 170+ year legacy in the education sector, now offering 45+ different degree programs across a diverse variety of industries.
B&SC faced a number of challenges with their existing website, built on a somewhat rigid enterprise-level CMS called Sitecore. The site struggled with accessibility compliance issues that put the college at risk of ADA litigation and hindered their online presence. Recognizing the critical need for high accessibility standards in the education sector, B&SC sought a comprehensive website overhaul.
In close collaboration with Education Dynamics (EDDY), we developed a new website architecture incorporating EDDY’s recent brand refresh. We transitioned the site from Sitecore to WordPress, thoughtfully designing for high accessibility standards while still achieving a visually stunning design.
Our overhaul fully embraced inclusive web design, from conducting extensive testing with screen readers, ensuring designs provided adequate color contrasts for legibility, and optimizing navigation paths for keyboard accessibility.
The migration required careful planning to maintain content continuity, ensuring there were no gaps in information for prospective students, faculty, or other audiences. Despite the limitations that WCAG-compliant website development can present, our team crafted a stunning, high-end design that not only met but exceeded accessibility standards. The end result was a secure, WCAG2.1 AA compliant, and visually striking website that empowered Bryant & Stratton College to stand out online.
