A P3 Take on this year’s Apple Event

Earlier this week, Apple unveiled a bevy of new products and features at its Wonderlust virtual event. The following are our team’s reactions.

1. The USB-C connector. It’s. About. Time. 🥹
2. Speaking of time, the future of the Apple Watch is looking bright... It uses a 3,000 nit display on the Ultra 2. 🤩
3. The new action button on the iPhone 15 Pro is neat but it’s a bit sad that they've gotten rid of the switch where users could instantly tell if their phone was silenced or not. 🤐
4. Hearing “titanium” uttered a few dozen times in reference to the new iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max’s casing was much less satisfying than hearing former Apple Design Chief Jony Ive say “al-you-min-EE-um.” 🥸
5. File under nifty in a pinch: Bringing USB-C to the 2nd gen AirPods Pro will allow for bi-directional charging. You can plug them into an iPhone 15 and charge them using the phone's battery. 🙌
6. It’s good to see Apple adopting 20+ year-old tech with near-field communication (NFC) contact info sharing. 😒
7. The first-generation iPhone camera is smaller than the flash on the iPhone 15 Pro. Just think about that for a second. 🤯
8. Apple’s new gaming features and the titles revealed during the event seem like a heavily invested foray into the console wars. Will smartphone manufacturers convince its owners that the real console was the one they had in their pockets all along? 🎮
